Research interests:
My research interests lie in the study of the art, architecture and the archaeology of the Islamic world. I am particularly interested in Ayyubid, Mamluk and Ottoman architecture, medieval Islamic military architecture in the Levant, the transition from late Byzantine to early Islamic material culture in the Levant, Islamic ceramics and Arabic epigraphy.
